Summary
The Medical Marketing Supervisor will be responsible for managing, guiding, and motivating a regional team of medical representatives to achieve prescription targets, achieve unit sales per month, increase product awareness, and build relationships with healthcare professionals. The role involves a combination of relationship management, strategic planning, training, and direct sales efforts. This individual will also play a key role in executing marketing strategies, in leveraging the brand within the pharmaceutical market.
Key Responsibilities
Lead outreach efforts for key accounts and opinion leaders within doctors, dentist and veterinarians to ensure maximum leverage of the brand.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of medical representatives to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, set objectives, and align strategies.
Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Monitor and evaluate individual team members’ performance, offering constructive feedback and support.
Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
Work with senior management to develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics for the team.
Coordinate and execute detailing plans that align with the company’s objectives, targets and market needs.
Identify opportunities for market expansion and growth, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Oversee the team’s sales activities, ensuring consistent messaging and promotional effectiveness.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare professionals, KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), and decision-makers.
Build and maintain an effective database of profiles for all healthcare professionals which informs sales and marketing strategies
Act as a point of contact for the team’s major clients and stakeholders.
Oversee the team’s efforts in providing high-level customer service and addressing concerns or questions.
Ensure that medical representatives provide accurate product information and effective follow-ups.
Track and analyze sales performance, territory performance, and market trends.
Prepare and present regular reports, forecasts, and updates to senior management.
Use data and insights to identify areas for improvement and guide the team towards achieving their targets.
Collect market information through the team and tailor marketing and sales strategies to market realities.
Ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about the company’s products, including their indications, benefits, and competitive advantages.
Promote adherence to all regulatory, ethical, and company guidelines in marketing and sales activities.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and new product launches to provide the team with up-to-date information.
Work closely with marketing, sales, regulatory, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment of messaging and strategies.
Coordinate with marketing teams to execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and educational seminars.
Provide feedback from the field to assist in product development and refinement of marketing materials.
Manage team schedules, budgets, and resources efficiently.
Handle territory management and allocation for the medical representatives.
Ensure the team is compliant with all documentation, reporting, and administrative requirements.
Job requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Pharmacology/Sciences or Related Field
A certificate in Sales & Marketing will be an asset.
Minimum (5) years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in leadership or supervisory role, managing a team of sales representatives.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical sales techniques and industry trends.
Ability to analyze data and targets, as well as develop actionable strategies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to build relationships with healthcare professionals and decision-makers.
Valid driver’s license/willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territories.
Valid passport
A vehicle in good working condition.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
