Summary
The Business Development Officer is a key contributor to Company’s efforts to identify, evaluate, and onboard new principals in the pharmaceutical, health and wellness, and consumer clinical equipment sectors. The role emphasizes conducting rigorous desktop and market research, due diligence, and generating insightful reports that guide strategic decision-making. The officer will help expand Company’s portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market demands.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth desktop research on potential principals in clinical drugs, health and wellness products, and consumer clinical equipment.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory landscapes to identify viable opportunities.
Develop detailed surveys to gather data from internal stakeholders and market sources.
Perform due diligence on potential principals, evaluating financial health, product quality, and regulatory compliance.
Prepare comprehensive reports to support decision-making on new partnerships.
Generate monthly reports summarizing research findings, market insights, and progress on onboarding new principals.
Maintain an organized database of research and due diligence documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new principals.
Monitor early-stage performance of onboarded principals to ensure alignment with expectations.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather input on prospective principals.
Present findings and recommendations to the Strategic Marketing and Business Development Manager.
Stay updated on global and regional trends impacting pharmaceuticals, health and wellness, and medical equipment.
Identify opportunities for the Company to remain competitive and innovative.
Job requirements
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Pharmacy, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development, research, or a related role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or health sectors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and market research tools.
Knowledge of the Caribbean pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating reports and presentations.
Proficiency in market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical and regulatory standards in the Caribbean.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Effective collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
