Job description


The Commercial Service Manager will be responsible for the service department and its team members, including customer service interactions, reports, and repairs. The Service Manager provides the highest level of safety, quality work and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overnight Reporting on vehicles that stay more than 24 hours
  • Regularly audits work being done and customer service being provided to ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly
  • Timely Submissions of Warranty Claims to the Principal Dealers
  • Coordinate all mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Effectively manages team members, including technicians and advisors, to ensure team objectives and sales goals are being carried out
  • Displays extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered
  • Assist in daily workload utilizing CDK and ERO
  • Completing of PAs and SDL management
  • Develops working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, and ensures service department adheres to all regulations
  • Product Quality Report Submissions

Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Automotive Service Management
  • Mechanical Experience with Industrial/Heavy Duty Vehicles
  • Two (2) years’ experience leading a technical/ mechanical team
  • Knowledge and experience Vehicle Diagnostics – 24 volt systems
  • Knowledge and experience Engine Rebuilding & Transmission Diagnostics
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer relations
  • Good problem solving, analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication (written, oral, presenting and negotiating) skills
  • Assertive with the ability to tactfully manage conflict and handle dissension
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload
  • Ability to define processes that can scale even in ambiguous environments
