Job description
Summary
The restaurant’s General Assistant- job covers interacting with customers, accepting payment from them for products and services provided. They must be able to switch roles quickly between performing restaurant-kitchen tasks and supporting each customer/visitor/supplier respectfully, swiftly and effectively with an honest, positive, friendly, and exuberant attitude.
Description of Responsibilities
- Manage the register, including all linx/credit card and cash operations
- Ensure a balance of the register at the end of the shift or working period
- Reviews orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied
- Assist with packing/serving food items when needed
- Appeal to impatient or irritated customers, especially during rush hours
- Cleaning and sanitizes work surfaces/area
- Removing garbage/bins from general areas at appropriate times
- Assist with cleaning spills as necessary
- Assist with receiving and dispatching inventory items
- Kitchen duties (Meat preparation, frying etc.)
- Advises Manager/Supervisor on availability of supplies needed to perform functions to the required standard
- Adheres to all safety precautions when carrying out duties
- Any other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
Job requirements
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- O’Level Certificate General Proficiency with 3-5 passes must include at English Language and Mathematics
- At least one (1) year experience in a similar role and working in a team-oriented environment
- Food Industry experience is an asset
- Excellent mathematical, multitasking, and computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- The position requires the ability to regularly stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The role also requires the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
- Outstanding customer relation skills and ability to ensure a customer priority culture
- Ability to work with flexibility in a continuous schedule of day, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Must have a driver's license
