Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient handling of inventory and coordination of warehouse staff. This role involves managing inventory control, order fulfilment, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage warehouse staff; Stores Clerks and Warehouse Assistants.
  • Conduct daily briefings to discuss tasks, schedules, and any issues.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and guidance.
  • Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming shipments.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and updating of inventory records.
  • Manage inventory organization and storage to maximize space and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and timely picking, packing, and dispatching of orders.
  • Coordinate with transport carriers for timely delivery of orders.
  • Monitor order fulfilment processes and address any issues promptly.
  • Enforce all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and performance metrics.
  • Implement corrective actions to address inventory discrepancies.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to the procurement team.
  • Assist in identifying new suppliers to enhance inventory quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for improving warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Implement approved process improvements and monitor their impact.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align warehouse operations with organizational goals.
  • Provide training for warehouse staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and set goals and objectives for staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.


Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills for inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and hygiene standards.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
